Vietnam’s pig prices bounce back as supply shrinks

169

Pig prices in Vietnam have recovered after six consecutive months of decline. VNDirect Security said restocking is slowing down because of ASF and low prices, which drained farmers’ funds. Meanwhile, large companies have no plans to expand their pig herd. Nonetheless, Q1 2023 pig inventory still increased by 6.2% yoy. VnDirect predicts pig prices will recover slightly in Q2 and will further increase in Q3 when demand recovers.
