Indonesia’s government wants the country to have more integrated beef cattle and oil palm farming projects to boost national beef production. Makmun, Secretary of the  Directorate General of Livestock and Animal Health, is urging more palm plantation operators to cooperate with local beef cattle farmers. “In total, Indonesia has around 16 million ha of palm plantation. If we can integrate 20% of the land with beef cattle farming, I believe the result will be massive,” he said.
