Indonesia’s state-owned Berdikari and LPER Producer Cooperative have agreed to distribute 5,000 tons of soybean meal (sbm) to smallholder poultry farmers across Indonesia as part of efforts to reduce feed costs.
Under the memorandum of understanding signed on August 18, the 5,000-ton allocation marks the first stage of the partnership. The sbm will be supplied to LPER-affiliated farmers through shorter distribution channels, potentially improving availability and price control at the farm level.
LPER Chairman Mulyadi Atma said the program could help lower production costs for eggs and poultry while supporting farmers facing financial pressure. Berdikari will provide the feed ingredient and act as an off-taker as the partners work to build an integrated poultry farming ecosystem.
