Australis to invest USD100m in sustainable marine aquaculture

Australis Aquaculture has committed to expand barramundi production in Vietnam with another USD 100 million. The US-based company is the world’s largest barramundi farmer with an output of 10,000 tons from its smart aquaculture project in Van Phong bay, Khanh Hoa province. CEO Josh Goldman said they are targeting an annual production growth of 35%. Australis has spent USD 200 million to develop an advanced aquaculture technology for farming barramundi, a marine fish that could rival salmon.
