Global corn prices see no reprieve


Global corn prices remain high as supply continues to be tight. The USDA lowered its global production forecast due to lower US, Argentina, and Brazilian crops. While this has offset gains in China, the USDA lowered its forecast for global imports from major markets like Vietnam and Thailand, which are shifting to cheaper alternatives. Demand for Brazilian corn, however, remains strong, thanks to record harvest despite a slight drop in December due to dry weather conditions.
