It is that time of the year again when analysts are busy gazing into their crystal balls to predict the economic climate for the year ahead. The general consensus for Asia is that it will be a year of resilience and recovery. The research team at DBS in Singapore, say that they will be looking beyond ‘known uncertainties and that markets are forward looking, having priced in the bulk of interest rate hikes and recessionary fears in 2022. Inflation pressure is expected to ease in the first half of 2023 as commodity prices decline with the normalization of supply-chain bottlenecks. But where is the animal protein sector headed?
