Pakistan’s soybean imports drop as government blocks GM


The uncertainty surrounding Pakistan’s policy on GM seed, has got the USDA reduce its soybean import forecast for MY 2022/2023 to 2.2mt from 2.5mt.

At present, the government has stopped allowing soybean imports, unless the importers obtain an import license from the Ministry of Climate Change.
