Key regulators in IBD control

Infectious Bursal Disease (IBD/Gumboro) is one of the most common diseases affecting commercial poultry in Asia. In the clinical acute form (vvIBDV), the disease causes significant economic losses due to mortality, reduced performance, and immunosuppression that lead to increased susceptibility to other diseases.

In this podcast, Leandro Ferreira, Poultry Technical Director Southeast Asia at Phibro Animal Health Corporation said biosecurity and vaccination are key to preventing IBD. Poor biosecurity, incorrect vaccination programs, and multi-age farms are the main issues confronting control of the disease.
