Resilience may be the right word to describe how the animal protein industry in South and Southeast Asia has survived amid challenges, that according to Rabobank, include high feed and energy prices and high costs of distribution and labor.

Poultry seems to be the most resilient, proven even during the Covid-19 pandemic in the past two years. Although the sector is facing high production cost, with pressures on disposable income, poultry remains a protein of choice.
