Japfa to establish chicken farms in Bintan

Japfa Comfeed Indonesia (JCI) plans to set up three new farms in Bintan to supply live chicken to Singapore. JCI sources told The Straits Times that operations could begin in September, with exports possible by year end. JCI currently operates a hatchery in Bintan that supplies DOC to the Riau Islands region. JCI will set up the farms in different locations, with each expected to house 150,000 chickens. Sources say the farms must produce a minimum of 100,000 chickens to make the operations feasible.
