Weather, diseases, poor quality feed, and high costs continue to hound Philippine broiler producers, but chicken production could improve in Q3. “With the GP that were loaded last year, and the higher volume of PS imported in Q2 2022, our broiler production for Q3 hopefully will be higher,” an industry source told Asian Agribiz. He added that broiler hatching eggs are arriving from Spain after the import ban was lifted in June. With the lifting of more import bans, local players worry that cheaper imports will compromise local production.
