Thailand’s Department of Livestock Development (DLD) seized 59 tons of smuggled pork at a cold storage warehouse in Nakhon Pathom province. Director General Sorawit Thaneeto said DLD officials searched the facility after a tip-off. The DLD uncovered 1510 boxes containing pork legs weighing about 23 tons, and 1433 boxes containing pork parts, weighing nearly 27 tons, among others. The facility owner has been given 15 days to present an import permit and a carcass transport permit or face legal action.
