Vietnam’s pangasius exports in the first five months this year rose 90% yoy, thanks to recovery in key pangasius importing markets. The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (Vasep) said shipments to major markets saw strong growth, including to the US (up 131%) and China (124%). Pangasius exports to countries in the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership also increased sharply. Vasep estimates that pangasius exports this year will reach USD 2.6 billion, up by USD 1 billion from last year.
