Vietnam seeks self-sufficiency in feed raw materials

Vietnam wants to produce more feed ingredients to reduce its reliance on imported raw materials. The country imports over 60% of its ingredient demand. Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh said that among the solutions are seed quality improvement, incentive tax for plantation investments, and zoning of commercial plantation areas for ingredient production. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in 2021, Vietnam spent USD 10 billion to import 22.3mt of feed ingredients, mainly corn and soybean meal.
