Fewer vaccination programs to address stress in layers

Simplifying vaccination programs can solve stress problems in layers. Jessica Lee, Veterinary Services Manager at Ceva Animal Health Asia said the more farmers vaccinate, the higher stress levels the birds experience. This must be a concern because stress can reduce performance and cause drop in egg production. “Since bird welfare is important, farmers must consider the right time to vaccinate and choose the vaccine that has high efficacy. Fewer programs will improve safety and efficiency,” Ms Lee explained in a seminar in Tangerang.
