Seafood demand ticking upwards


The seafood industry in Asia is seeing recovery following restrictions during the pandemic, driven by growing demand for value-added seafood in the US, EU, and China. The soaring demand for fishery and aquaculture products has positioned seafood as the most traded animal protein.

However, the industry is seeing record high prices for many species due to challenges in international trade, continued lockdowns in China, high production cost, and diseases in aquaculture.
