Higher fish consumption targeted for Indonesian consumers

The Indonesian government targets a per capita fish consumption of 59kg in 2022, up from 55kg in 2021. To achieve the goal, the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ministry will continues its promotional and educational campaign to increase fish consumption, especially in regions with a high prevalence of stunting. Artati Widiarti, Director General for Strengthening Competitiveness of Marine and Fishery Products, said the program teaches people about various fishery products. The program also encourages elementary school students to regularly eat fish to meet their daily nutritional needs.
