Australia leads in wheat export race into Asia

Australian wheat is leading the race on global exports with record harvests. Richard Perkins, General Manager at Market Check, said Australian wheat is the cheapest coming into Asia. Addressing the Australia Grains Industry Conference Asia 2022, he said tighter ending stocks from other exporters left a 7mt supply gap, driving prices up globally. The Ukraine crisis is also adding a premium. Australia is well-positioned with a wheat export target of 26.7mt for 2021/2022 (2mt ahead of last year). With competitive pricing, feed wheat will drive exports, remarked Mr Perkins.
