Aruna exports processed crab to North America

Indonesia’s fisheries startup Aruna has exported 15 tons of processed crab worth USD 500,000 to North America. The crabs came from fishermen fostered by Aruna to meet sustainability protocols. The crabs are processed at the seafood processing plant in East Java owned by Nirwana Segara, Aruna’s partner. Utari Octavianty, Aruna’s Chief Sustainability Officer, said the startup is committed to improving the welfare of fishermen while working simultaneously to achieve sustainability.
