Indonesian sbm consumption in 2021/22 to reach 5.35mt

Soybean meal (sbm) consumption in Indonesia is expected to reach 5.35mt in 2021/22, 300,000 tons higher year-on-year, said the USDA. The poultry feed segment will continue to account for the bulk of sbm demand. Ninety out of 94 feedmills are linked to the poultry industry, with an average sbm inclusion rate of about 25%. Meanwhile, the USDA lowered its forecast slightly for Indonesia’s sbm imports to 5.2mt from 5.3mt on importers’ perceived improvements in supply chains.
