Thailand aims to export 920,000 tons of frozen and processed chicken this year, up 1% year-on-year (yoy). Kukrit Areepakorn, Thai Broiler Processing Exporters Association Manager, told Asian Agribiz that Thailand exported 842,000 tons from January-November 2021, down 1.5% yoy. While exports to the EU and Japan rose 4.1% and 1.8%, respectively, exports to UK and China fell 8% and 15%. China still has a ban on imports from 10 plants in Thailand. “Container shortages and high freight rates continue to be a challenge,” he added.
