Meat and seafood prices rise in Singapore

A fractured supply chain has driven up meat and seafood prices in Singapore. Local restaurant owners said prices of some beef brands have gone up by 40-45% in the past six months. Traditionally, beef prices increase either yearly or biannually, and in the single-digit range. Currently, there is a trend of customers canceling festive food orders for the coming Lunar New Year. While some consumers continue to shell out for festive food items such as Chinese pomfret and red grouper, others are turning to alternatives.
