Phytase proves performance in layers (27-34 weeks of age)

Phytase increases the utilization of phosphorus from plant ingredients, reducing supplementation of diets with inorganic phosphorus.

JÜRGEN ZENTEK, ANETT KRIESTEN, CHRIS STEFFEN SCHULZE and ELINOR McCARTNEY* present a trial from a German University showing supplementation with an E. coli-derived 6-phytase in low phosphorus diets significantly improved laying performance in comparison with the unsupplemented control group.
