Processors urged to upgrade instant noodles with meat


Instant noodle and pasta manufacturers in India can ‘premiumize’ their offerings by adding meat chunks, whether in dehydrated or ready-to-eat form sealed in a retort pouch. According to market research firm Mintel, 21% of consumers in India would eat more instant noodles and pasta if they contained meat. Moreover, the products with added meat are more likely to be priced at a premium. Such offerings can help the categories connect with consumers with a higher household income and those residing in cities like Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, and Chennai.
