Bumpy road to recovery for poultry sector


The poultry industry in Southeast Asia has been heavily impacted by the Covid pandemic. Poultry production declined in 2021, for the second year in a row. However, the outlook for 2022 signals improving production and consumption, Rabobank said. Supported by rising vaccination rates, reopening economies, and the resumption of international travel, market conditions are set to improve with higher consumption. Still, costs will remain high, with feed, labor, freight, and energy costs expected to rise.
