Bangka Belitung to import Australian beef cattle

The provincial government of Bangka Belitung, Indonesia, has issued a permit to import Brahman Cross cattle from Australia. Governor Erzaldi Rosman said the import would stabilize meat prices and reduce dependence on beef from other regions. He added that it is part of their commitment to increasing beef supply by managing and breeding their own cattle. The province’s cattle requirement is estimated at 14,800 heads this year and will increase to 15,100 heads next year.
