Alternative feed ingredients are not a new phenomenon in the poultry industry. According to Prof Ravi Ravindran of Massey University, New Zealand, the search for alternative feed ingredients has been ongoing since the poultry sector was industrialized. However, the point is, alternative feed ingredients are region-related. “Some alternative feed ingredients not commonly used in one region can be normal ingredients in another region. So, we can learn from the other region on how to minimize risks of using the ingredients,” he explained. Prof Ravindran will explain more during Asian Agribiz’s Broiler Feed Quality Conference 2021.
