Betagro is testing its plant-based food products under the Meat Me brand at 10 Betagro Deli shops in Thailand. Available in Bangkok, the products include plant-based meat alternatives with rice and with spaghetti. Sold at USD 1.9/pack, the products, with high protein and a low-calorie count, target flexitarians and younger consumers. Plant-based food is becoming mainstream due to the growing food safety and health concerns, a USDA report said. However, Thailand is in the early stages of plant-based food development. Companies are now paying more attention to r&d, distribution, and customer bases.
