Thai Union Graphic, a subsidiary of Thai Union Group (TU), and packaging firm Starflex have formed a joint venture (jv) for a packaging plant. The jv will have a registered capital of USD 7.4 million, with Starflex and TU Graphic holding a 51% and 49%, respectively. The plant to be completed in Q4 2022, will produce flexible packaging mainly for food. TU has pledged that 100% of its branded packaging will be recyclable or compostable by 2025. “The jv will help us achieve this,” said TU CEO Thiraphong Chansiri.
